Further to this, AFL South East Umpiring Department discussed and asked the Senior Umpires to INVEST from April 22 onwards.
Currently we have 83 Umpires who have been earmarked for the above levels of football, hopefully with some junior talent that can be even added to that number.
If as a group we want to facilitate as many 3 Field Umpire matches as possible on weekends with all the above grades being played, there requires an investment from Senior Umpires to assist in the Under 19s & Women’s space.
AFL South East’s role as a service provider to appoint Umpires to all MPFNL & SEWF games as a priority.
As an Umpiring Department, it is our desire to have as many 3 Umpire matches in as many matches as possible.
With our current numbers (able to fill all MPFNL/SEWF matches with 2x Field Umpires) if as a group we want to supply 3 umpire matches, we are asking for investment from Umpires.
If all Senior Umpires buy-in and assist 3 or 4 times across the whole season, this can be a reality, but we need all to assist where they can, not the same couple of Umpires doing (2) matches every week.
We are asking for Senior Umpires across all levels, if you are available at some stage to invest in a 2nd match for a couple of Rounds somewhere in 2023, please let Russell Davidson & Wes Mann know.
