Operations Update

AFL South East Umpire Operations Update

05 July 2024

Hi all,
As the season rolls onto towards final, please take the time to read the below updates for umpiring in the AFL South East region:
Umpire Professionalism and Objectivity

Although clubs in the region are generally happy with the quality of umpiring across the region, we have had several more instances of unprofessional and unobjective umpiring. As paid umpires, we need to ensure that we are as professional and objective as possible. This means wearing correct uniform in a correct manner (shirt tucked, socks pulled up) as well as paying warranted free kicks for both teams. I am fully aware that a large portion of our umpires are players, but this should not impact the way in games are officiated.
AFL Women and Girls Experience Hub

The AFL Women and Girls Experience Team will be hosting another experience hub! This event is exclusive to all women and girls in the region, umpiring or non-umpiring! Be sure to attend this event with details on the flyer attached!
