This weekend from Friday May 5 to Sunday May 7 is the AFL SOUTH EAST COMMUNITY UMPIRING ROUND which will take place across the MPFNL, SEWF and AFL South East Junior competitions.
We thank our those who make up our AFL South East Umpiring Department and also the Southern Umpires Association for their continued support and all they do off-field for Umpires in their role.
To recognise the contribution you make, please see below the 2 Umpire Recognition Events in which we are expecting maximum attendance from our Umpiring group.
WEDNESDAY 3rd MAY – SENIORS (MPFNL & SEWF) UMPIRE RECOGNITION EVENT
Kananook Reserve, Seaford from 6pm.
Representation from all MPFNL & SEWF Clubs.
Some are sending their President, other their Senior coach and even some Players.
Order of Events (we are on a strict timeline so please be respectful & on time);
6pm – Training begins
- On Field
6.30pm – MPFNL & SEWF Club Representatives arrive and will receive information from AFL South East & SUA about Umpiring.
- SUA Social Rooms
6.40pm – Senior Field Umpires Coaching Session with Russell Davidson. MPFNL & SEWF Club Representatives will be sitting in this session to get an insight into what a coaching session entails.
- SUA Social Rooms
7pm – Group Photo of all Umpires PLEASE BRING YOUR MATCH DAY SHIRT FOR THIS PHOTO along with all Club Representatives who will be in their Club Apparel.
- On Field
7.05pm – All Umpires & Club Representatives are expected in the SUA Social Rooms
- Q&A with AFL Umpire Hayden Gavine.
- Club Representatives will compete in the AFL South East Umpires Quiz on the Big Screen.
- Dinner to follow provided by SUA (order through regular SUA process), and Umpires and Club Representatives can share experiences.
MONDAY 8rd MAY – JUNIORS (FDJ & SEJ) UMPIRE RECOGNITION EVENT
Casey Fields Function Room (VFL) from 6.30pm
No training at Heatherbrae Reserve or Kananook Reserve.
Representation from all FDJ & SEJ Presidents.
Order of Events (we are on a strict timeline so please be respectful & on time);
6.00pm to 6.30pm – Arrival of Umpires & Presidents
6.30pm –Group Photo of all Umpires PLEASE BRING YOUR MATCH DAY SHIRT FOR THIS PHOTO along with all Club Presidents who will be in their Club Apparel.
- Casey Fields Oval #1 Grandstand.
6.40pm – Umpires & Club Representatives are expected in the Casey Function Room following, where AFL Victoria, AFL South East Umpiring Department & SUA will present to the Club Presidents on the role Umpiring in the Juniors and how important this is.
Following this, the Club Presidents will compete in the AFL South East Umpires Quiz on the Big Screen.
6.50pm – Umpires will have a combined training session on either Casey Fields Oval #1 or Oval #2 (TBC) with the SEJ & FDJ Presidents having their joint meeting.
